More Information
Card
Dr Richard Wojdat is a specialist in gynecological oncology, minimally invasive gynecological surgery MIC III (2010-2025), and head of gynecology at Sana Kliniken in the Cham district. Dr Wojdat and his team have a high level of expertise in the areas of female cancers, including breast diseases, endometriosis, and myoma therapy.
Dr Wojdat and his team provide care at a university level through the continuous development of treatment standards and state-of-the-art technical equipment. In particular, the use of minimally invasive surgery and robotics is a focus of head physician Dr Wojdat's surgical expertise.
Specialist in Gynecologic Oncology
Gynecologic tumors can arise in all organs of the female reproductive tract and the breast tissue. Since drastic changes in the female anatomy sometimes accompany their effective treatment, it requires, in addition to a radical removal of the tumor, compassionate care in dealing with the patient's femininity. Informing about possibly restricted sexual function is also essential—Dr Richard Wojdat and his team not only treat female tumors but also accompany women diagnosed with tumors on their way back to well-being.
Treatment of Precancerous Lesions (Dysplasia)
In gynecology, dysplasia is a suspicious change in the mucous membrane of the cervix, vagina, and labia. These can express a progressive degeneration of certain cell lines and would thus be considered a precancerous condition. In addition, human papillomaviruses play a role in the development of malignant tumors that should not be underestimated, as they trigger mutations in the genome of the cells. Therefore, all abnormalities in the area of the genital mucous membranes require medical clarification in terms of cancer prevention.
Designated Endometriosis Specialist
In principle, endometriosis refers to benign growths of the endometrium, which, however, do not occur in the organ but outside it, for example, in the abdominal cavity. Women often consult a specialist like Dr Richard Wojdat because they suffer from chronic abdominal pain or pronounced discomfort during menstruation. Not infrequently, untreated endometriosis is the reason for an unfulfilled desire to have children. Therefore, in addition to comprehensive and interdisciplinary diagnostics, you will also receive individual counseling. Therapeutically, in addition to an accompanying hormonal treatment, a minimally invasive intervention with radical and gentle removal of the endometriosis lesions is the primary option.
Experienced Expert in Myoma Therapy
The uterus consists of a strong musculature under the uterine lining. During pregnancy, these muscle cells grow in preparation for the upcoming expulsion of the child during the birth process. However, if local growths of these muscle cells occur outside of pregnancy, which can be imaged on ultrasound, they are referred to as benign uterine fibroids. Malignant tumors in the muscles can also initially appear like fibroids. For this reason, fibroids should be monitored regularly so that therapy can be initiated in good time if alarming changes occur.
Dr. Richard Wojdat uses a minimally invasive procedure that allows him to remove the tumor and, in most cases, even restore the functional capacity of the uterine muscles. Alternatively, the clinic is also developing the option of offering transvaginal radiofrequency ablation as a gentler method of destroying the tumor without incisions. The best choice between the two methods is made jointly after analyzing the findings in a consultation with the patient.
