About Dr Daniel Lonic
Dr med. Daniel Lonic is a specialist for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery and Section Head of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Helios Clinic Munich West.
Helios Hospital Munich West is equipped with 400+ stationary beds. In addition to Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a total of eight specialist departments are combined under one roof. Due to its professional competence, the clinic is also accredited as a teaching hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University.
Specialist in Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery in Munich
The department offers the full range of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, working closely with the clinics of General Surgery, Trauma Surgery and Orthopedics and the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr med. Daniel Lonic offers the entire range of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Helios Hospital Munich West. In this way, he supports patients on the way to a body and an appearance with which they feel completely comfortable again. He carries out microsurgery reconstructions of all body regions. In addition, he covers the entire spectrum of cosmetic surgery.
Expert with international experience in cosmetic facial surgery
Dr Lonic specialises in aesthetic facial surgery. Through international activities and continuing education in the USA and Taiwan, Dr Lonic is experienced in the latest methods and techniques. These include tightening operations such as facelifts and plastic surgery of eyelids, but also rejuvenation by means of autologous fat injections.
Specialist field: paediatric cosmetic surgery
The area of Paediatric Plastic Surgery is another focus of Dr med. Daniel Lonic. He treats a variety of conditions, such as facial tumours or vascular lesions. Otopexy, or ear correction, is carried out on children and also adults who have strongly protruding ears. From a medical point of view, this is an anatomical variant which is not seldomly met by bullying or ridiculing within the social enviornment and can have a psychological burden on the patient.
Another focus area of our specialist is so-called Craniofacial Surgery. These include, for example, correction of fused skull sutures in infancy (Craniosynostosis), orthognathic surgery for malposition of the jaws, or dysgnathia surgery. The term of dysgnathia subsumes malpositioning of the jaws, the position of the teeth and the chewing apparatus.
No more snoring thanks to orthodontic intervention
The obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome, which usually manifests itself in patients through severe snoring and increased fatigue due to nocturnal pauses in breathing, can be treated by various conservative and non-invasive therapies, but these are sometimes not sufficient. In the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS), the patient can also be helped by means of bimaxillary or maxillo-mandibular advancement surgery.
In this orthognathic surgery, the airways, which are usually severely narrowed during obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome, are expanded with targeted bone cuts and advancement of the upper and lower jaws. Patients who usually suffer from long-term snoring in combination with breathing pauses during sleep can be helped with this procedure.
Specialist in reconstructive plastic surgery after tumour surgery
In addition, Dr Lonic operates on long-term sequelae after extensive trauma or tumour surgery to restore and maintain a functional and aesthetic body structure. All reconstructive methods are used, including special microsurgery.
The treatment concepts implemented by Dr med. Daniel Lonic are often developed and modified in close interdisciplinary cooperation with the Department of General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery and the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, depending on the patient's case.
